Nornour on St. Marys nestles below
the ruins of ancient monument 'Harry's Walls', overlooking Thomas
Porth beach and the harbour.
Perfectly placed for access to the main town and its shops,
banks, restaurants and post office, Nornour is roughly a ten minute walk
from the main town beaches and the inter-island boat services - or if
you prefer just two
minutes from the quiet and secluded Porthloo beach.
How to find us:
Nornour is located about ten minutes walk to the North of
Hugh Town, along the coast path towards Porthloo. If arriving by plane
or helicopter, ask for one of the reasonably priced local taxis to take
you to Mount Flagon, where we will meet
you on arrival. If arriving by the Scillonian III, either take a leisurely
walk along the coast path and have you luggage delivered by Island Carriers
from the docks, or take a taxi to Mount Flagon.
To reach us by foot take the Strand out of Hugh Town, go up past the school
and down again towards Porthmellon Beach, at the Boatshed Restaurant fork
left down the coastal track off the main road. At the end of the beach
fork left to continue
along the narrow coastal path. Approaching Thomas Porth beach after about 150
yards take the steps on the right signposted Harry’s Walls, turn left at the top and you will see Mount Flagon in front of you at the end of the path. Please enter through the wooden gate
but take the path to the left side of the building round to the front. Across the gravelled area
you will see a flight of wooden steps which will take you to our front door on the 1st floor and a warm welcome!
